︎

14th - 18th March 2018

LSE Library, London

We are Here is a female artist run platform with the purpose of exploring what it means to be British through the eyes and experiences of BME (Black, Minority, Ethnic) women.
I was invited to get involved with their exhibtion “100 Years, Today’s Woman” by creating work under the themes of; women’s rights, women’s suffrage, intersectional feminism and activism from the perspective of BME women.

Fresh Imports, Gouache on Card

Fresh Imports, Gouache on Card. 2018

The piece I created is a full on celebration of what it means to me to be from Hong Kong and how traditional and modern cultures combine. Using colours and objects that symbolise luck, wealth and happiness, I played around with shapes and humourous double meanings.
