Book cover design for writer Nancy Azcona’s new Poetry book Corazón de Seda (Silk Heart). The book is a poetic journey through six years of love, self, and family.

My goal for this cover is to capture an ethereal, regal demeanor in the subject, who is the author herself. While keeping in mind the strength in softness and the softness in strength, I want the cover to reflect the raw honesty in Nancy Azcona’s work, in which she describes:

“Showing vulnerability is terrifying, and I’m trying to swallow that fear and show that expressing emotions does not equal weakness.”
